Hello there, We
are glad your here!
First
off we want to know what are your intentions? What are you
looking for? What are you looking to achieve? Is it
confidence,
agility, strength, focus, self esteem, fitness.... For you or your
children?
These are some of the
questions we want to know and want you to be clear on. Anyone can offer
you the world and have you join their school just to find out that you
were not a great fit. We think a
better alternative is to address the things you are looking to
accomplish first then see where things fit.
Most
schools can offer you an okay experience and partially deliver what you
are trying to accomplish but we want to deliver to you and your family
an exceptional experience and education hopefully for years to
come.
In that light I would urge you to check out the video on choosing a
martial arts school which will help you make an informed decision.

It’s odd that we would think in terms of differences when it comes to Kung Fu and Karate, for there are more similarities than one would suspect. They are both combative arts, after all, and karate is actually descended from kung fu. To really understand the differences one needs to consider the arts as a whole, and how they evolve.
One of the things I heard about, when I was first starting the martial arts, was that the hips are the cornerstone of power. Being in Kenpo, I didn’t understand, for that art is not set up for hip power. I kept reading about this concept of hip power, however, and specifically whenever I read about the Japanese classical Karate arts.

I was in Willits, California putting on a karate demonstration for a couple of hundred kids the second time I ever slow walked. As I finished the showing the kids what karate was I noticed a fellow standing at the far end of the gymnasium. Standing alone, he was big and rather ominous.
Nobody else knows about this, but it is the best kick I know. This is an amazing kick, but it’s true, and I never see anybody else use it. Not in tournaments, not in the MMA, not even in good, old commercial school freestyle.

The thug jumps out of the darkenss and smashes a whole darned trash can on your head! Do you ask him to take that trash can off you and help you up because, doggone it, you’re only on your ninth Karate lesson and haven’t reached the what do you do when a trash can flattens you part? Or do you ask him to administer first aid because, here it comes, you didn’t sign a long enough contract at your local dojo?
The bully charges out of the alley and tosses a whole, darned trash can at you! Do you ask him to take that garbage can back because you’re only on your ninth Karate lesson and haven’t reached the deflecting the garbage can lesson? Or do you ask him go away because, here it comes, you forgot to pay your dues at the local dojo?
You shouldn’t try to eat anything that’s got bigger teeth than you. When it comes to words of wisdom I know that isn’t much, but there is a certain undeniable truth here. Especially when a student offers the complaint that he is tired.
